The TR-6A damper prevents "drafting" through the chimney and temperature rise on the boiler by regulating the chimney draft. What exactly does this mean??? In boilers with feeders or coal dust boilers, where a blower supporting the combustion process is used, the effect of drafting through the chimney the temperature set on the controller occurs quite often, i.e. we set the boiler to, for example, 60 degrees, the temperature is reached, the controller turns off the blower and the temperature... RISES!!! Air is sucked into the boiler through the blower inlet!!!
What then???
Even the best and most expensive controller cannot cool down the boiler for us - in such a case it is powerless!!! The boiler burns faster, less economically.
Therefore, a CHIMNEY DRAFT REGULATOR should be installed. The principle of operation is very simple, the regulator opens only when the blower is working. If the blower is not working, the regulator closes itself, without electricity, batteries, etc. It has a mechanical counterweight that always causes it to close!!!
How to check if your boiler needs such a regulator???
Some readers of this description already know they need such a regulator because they have problems maintaining the set temperature on the boiler. And for those who want to check - turn off the controller so that the blower stops, light, for example, a lighter and hold it near the blower where it draws air. A regulator will be needed if the flame is blown out by the air being drawn in or if there is a noticeable "jerking" of the flame.
Chimney draft regulators can help save up to 20% of fuel.
Technical parameters:
- width including weight - 126 mm
- flange width - 102 mm
- flange height - 65 mm
- inlet opening - height - 57 mm; width - 65 mm
- the blower will be moved away from the boiler by 76 mm
The regulator fits all types of blowers - DM 80, WBS 6A, WPA 06, WPA 07, RV-13 and many others.
Check the drawing next to see if the regulator fits your blower.
